Which shortlist should I read first?
Use the compact shortlist when the hatch, cabinet size or service space is the main constraint. Use the gravity-drain shortlist after confirming a continuously descending drain route.
Are these the best dehumidifiers across the whole market?
No. Both lists are limited to the Argendon models researched for this first collection. They do not establish superiority over brands we have not evaluated.
Why is there no single overall winner?
Drain route, required capacity, controls and physical fit can point to different choices. The lists give conditional candidates rather than a winner without a defined installation.
Does a bigger pint number make a better choice?
Not by itself. Compare the same temperature and humidity basis, assess the load, and check the cabinet and service space. Saturation numbers must not be mixed with ratings from other conditions.
Can a pump model appear in a compact shortlist?
Yes. Compact describes a fit question; pump describes a drainage option. Neither replaces checking the exact dimensions, airflow clearances and hose route.
Why is there no best-value award?
We have not established a current comparable offer set or measured operating costs. A lower advertised price alone would not resolve installation suitability or ownership cost.
