35P specification; 55C specification. The figures identify a documented capacity step; actual performance in your home remains unmeasured.
What would justify moving up?
Start with the assessed moisture load. A 35P owner’s difficulty during unusually humid weather does not prove that a 55C would have reached the target in the same room. Before interpreting that account as a replacement recommendation, distinguish water entry, air distribution and drainage interruptions from insufficient removal capacity.
Then check the physical trade: the sheets list lengths of 15.35 inches for 35P and 17.64 inches for 55C, with a conflicting 35P live-page value. Measure the turn beyond the hatch and the room for your hand at the hose connector. Passing through the opening is only the first check.
Reasons to leave the upgrade undecided
- The enclosure or moisture source has not been assessed: complete the crawl-space site brief.
- The 55C fits only if connection or filter access is sacrificed.
- The decision depends on noise: available owner impressions conflict and do not provide comparable measurements.
Sandidry Pro 55C is a different product and is not part of this comparison.
