Which uncertainty is stopping your choice?
| Question | Shield 60P | Shield 85P |
|---|---|---|
| Comparable removal rating? | 60-pint claim; test basis not established | 85 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH |
| Pumped operation? | Advertised | Documented; Pablo reports use over about six months |
| Control access experience? | No exact-model report available | David describes a separately purchased remote after a few weeks |
| Proven long-term advantage? | Not established | Not established from these anecdotes |
For a capacity decision, the missing 60P test basis is the obstacle. For a control-access decision, establish which compatible remote is available and how the cabinet will remain accessible for maintenance. These requests should not be collapsed into a general score for the two machines.
A longer owner observation still is not a comparative trial
The 85P card retains the multi-month pumped-use account and the separately purchased controller experience. Those observations are useful in their own installations. They cannot establish a lower failure rate than 60P or convert a predicted electricity bill into measured savings.
Choose the required capacity and supported arrangement first; do not buy a larger machine simply because its owner material is easier to find.
