Separate these three situations
- The 35P already meets the assessed load and route. A larger label alone supplies no demonstrated benefit in this comparison.
- The space is not meeting its target. Investigate conditions, moisture entry and distribution before treating that observation as proof that 60P would solve it.
- The assessment calls for a capacity step. Obtain the 60P test conditions before comparing its nominal 60-pint claim with 35P’s documented 35 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH.
| Decision input | Shield 35P | Shield 60P |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity basis | 35 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH in verified sheet | 60-pint AHAM page claim; basis unresolved |
| Drain choice | Pump or gravity | Pump or gravity advertised |
| Useful owner observation | Nick avoided daily bucket emptying; Kim saw weather-related performance changes | No inspected exact-model owner account |
| Purchase uncertainty | Clearance notation and published RH range conflict | Capacity basis and owner outcomes remain incomplete |
The 35P owner accounts are not a paired trial against 60P, whose inspected listing has no exact-model owner accounts.
Use the moisture-load worksheet to state the requirement that an upgrade must meet. Until both that requirement and the 60P rating basis are established, the higher number remains a question rather than a recommendation.
